Due to the increasing complexity of education at school, counselling- and supporting offers are getting more important for students and trainees. In the everyday life of teenagers, the school plays an important role. It is the place where they meet people of the same age to learn, to prove themselves, to fight, to laugh together and much more. The school social work at HMS stands on five strong pillars. It helps with individual concerns of the teenagers and young adults of our school (individual case work). On request and need it is available for the work with groups and classes (social group work), as well as for the support in the class happenings as well as for conflicts. In a constructive conflict handling or mediation we are offering a protected space and help with our company to find satisfying solutions for all involved persons.
Prevention means avoiding, anticipation. With prevention, conditions shall be created or changed so that problems are not occurring. A success of cooperation in the everyday life of school leads to the well-being of the students and teachers and therefore represents the best prevention. In this sense the school social work is on its way in the school building and designs relevant projects and project days.
School social work understands itself as an interface between actors inside and outside of the school (school management, teachers, students, parents, training firms etc.). Especially important thereby is networking with the region to offer competent partners for special topics and problems of our students (network working internally and externally).
