The vocational upper secondary school at HMS is divided into the following departments:
• Technology: Main emphasis on mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, structural engineering and information engineering.
• Economics: main emphasis on nutrition and domestic economy
Practical projects in all main departments:
• i.e. nutrition advice, planning and building of a quadrocopter, networks and website design, planning and producing of automatic sorting devices, restoration projects at existing buildings
• working in teams: unconventional solutions are in the foreground at the project work
Independence and working with sole authority in school and classes will be intensified to later create and enlarge studying skills.

Terms of admission
Nicht hinreichende Noten können durch ein Abschlusszeugnis der Berufsschule mit einem Notendurchschnitt von mindestens 3,0 ersetzt werden (Form B).

Process of application
- Application: through the former school until March 31st of one year
- Application forms: secretary’s office of the former schools, secretary’s office of HMS, download of the application form from the download section.
For type A (year 11) please hand in:
• Suitability statement of the former school, photographic image, certificate of the GCSE or certificate of moving up into year 11 of a public or officially recognized grammar school: The certificate has to have at least two satisfactory performances in two of the subjects German, Mathematics and English. None of the named subjects must be worse than adequate.
• Written acceptance of a traineeship
• Certificate of a career counselling through the responsible job center at the former school
For type B (year 12) please hand in:
• Suitability statement of the former school, photographic image, certificate of the GCSE or certificate of moving up into year 11 of a public or officially recognized grammar school: The certificate has to have at least two satisfactory performances in two of the subjects German, Mathematics and English. None of the named subjects must be worse than adequate.
• Proof of a final exam in a relevant recognized occupation requiring formal training or degree of an at least two-year vocational training with a public exam
• Not sufficient marks can be replaced with a leaving certificate of the vocational school with a grade average of at least 3,0 or a public exam of a relevant at least two-year vocational training with a grade average of at least 3,0. At acceptance in organization type B an at least three-year vocational activity in a recognized relevant vocational training can be placed instead of a finished relevant vocational training.
• The principal decides about acceptance.
